Description
A dark grey-green ground with pale blue and white flowers painted over it. This is the line furthest from classic maiolica: no yellow, no red, and a muted ground that acts as a background rather than a colour.
The decoration is on the inside, which is why these bowls stay on show even when empty. In the kiln the grey-green can shift towards olive or towards blue depending on where the piece stood: two bowls side by side never have quite the same ground.
