Shipping and returns
How pieces are packed, what happens if one arrives broken, and how to change your mind.
This page is not complete and the shop is not trading. Rates, carrier and destinations served have not been confirmed: until they are, no shipping price appears here, because an indicative price that later changes is worse than no price at all.
Where we ship
[TO BE CONFIRMED AT THE STUDIO: destinations served: Italy only, or also the European Union and outside the EU]
A destination appears on this page and in the basket only once it has a confirmed rate and carrier. A basket that quotes zero euro of shipping to Germany is not an offer: it is an order sold at a loss, and you find out when it is time to send it.
What it costs
[TO BE CONFIRMED AT THE STUDIO: rates by weight band and the carrier chosen]
The cost is shown in full in the basket, before you confirm the order, and separately from the price of the piece. Catalogue prices include VAT.
Collection at the studio
The one thing that is available today: come to Via Firenze 83 at Certaldo, pay there and take the piece with you. No shipping, no packing, and no risk of breakage on the way. For anyone travelling in Tuscany between Florence and Siena it is also the only way to see the real size of a piece before buying it.
How pieces are packed
Glazed ceramic breaks at corners and rims, and above all it breaks when the piece moves inside the box. Packing is therefore not a logistical detail: it is part of what you are buying.
[TO BE CONFIRMED AT THE STUDIO: packing materials used, and whether large pieces are double-boxed]
If it arrives broken
Photograph the box before you open it fully, then the piece, and write to info@chianticeramica.it within a few days of delivery. Without photographs of the packaging the carrier will not accept the claim, and it is the carrier who answers for damage in transit.
Right of withdrawal: fourteen days
If you buy as a consumer you have fourteen days from receipt to change your mind, without having to explain why. The full procedure is in the Terms and conditions, and that is the version that governs.
Withdrawal does not apply to pieces commissioned to your own instructions: those are goods made to your specification, and the law excludes them. You are told about the exclusion before you order, never after.
[TO BE CONFIRMED AT THE STUDIO: who pays the cost of the return: buyer or seller]
Refunds
The refund is made within fourteen days of the piece arriving back, by the same means of payment you used. If the piece comes back damaged because it was insufficiently packed for the return, the refund takes the loss of value into account.
