Description
A white flower with many petals, painted on a red ground. White over red is a pairing that can go wrong in the kiln: red pigment, laid on too heavily, tends to rise and tint the white pink. Here the flower has stayed clean.
It is the least expensive way to own a hand-painted decoration, and the easiest to send: flat, with nothing sticking out, it survives a parcel being set down on its side.
