Centrepieces & footed bowls

Wide, low pieces, or ones raised on a foot: they stand in the middle of a table and are seen from above. The decoration is designed for that distance, so the pattern on the base matters more than the one on the rim.

Hand-applied handles are the first thing to break, because they stand proud: in packing they are protected separately.
