Vases, amphorae, lidded jars, wall plates and centrepieces: the pieces that sit in a room to be looked at. They give the decoration the most room, and they show most clearly what the second firing does to colour.

They are also the pieces worth seeing in person before buying. A photographed amphora always looks smaller than it is; at the studio in Certaldo you understand the real size in a second.
